close observations show that: He mistakenly added the three monograms engraved top of the line of letters during his decipherment. The correct way of reading it is ‘keveta’. This word could be the #Prakrit version of the #Sanskrit word ‘#kevarta’ which means ‘the fisherman’.

Did you know? Mongoose - English word for this small animal (family Herpestidae) arrived through #Portuguese mangusto, which in turn borrowed it from #Marathi word मुंगूस  muṅgūsa, which inherited it from #Prakrit maṁkusa ≤ all ultimately from a #Dravidian source (münk-ūc).

In 5th century BCE the Buddhists gave the word(Dhamma)a new & more specific meaning. In the spoken #Prakrit of the time the form used was Dhammo, which became #Dhamma in Pali..In #Buddhist context it came to mean the ultimate truth as contained..teachings expounded by #Buddha.

Interesting to know that #Thai word for cigarette 🚬 บุหรี่ bù-rìi is related to Hindi / Urdu bīṛī (hand-rolled cigarettes in a tendu leaf) which in turn is related to #Pali वीडी vīḍī from #Prakrit vīḍiā वीडिआ from from #Sanskrit वीटिका vīṭikā (= roll of betel).
