#spatialindexing search results
Hey cool! Elasticsearch spatial projections are close. It's fun to index & search mars data using the custom Equidistant / Equirectangular cylindrical projection. @elastic @NASAMars @NasaCuriosity #spatialIndexing #oss4g
🔗symp.ink/3Cmpakn – Do spatial indexing, polygon subdivision, and polygon simplification techniques capture your curiosity? If yes, this is the perfect article for you! #geospatialapplications #spatialindexing
Hearing more and more cases of users migrating from PostGIS to latest Elasticsearch and getting higher accuracy and better scale performance with complex shapes. Just wait 'til you see what's coming next! #foss4g #spatialIndexing
Big changes coming for Elasticsearch geo_shape types! No more expert resolution parameters needed, & tremendous performance improvements. Super proud of this work. @elastic #foss4g #geo #spatialIndexing github.com/elastic/elasti…
R-trees are crucial for efficiently indexing and querying spatial data. By organizing objects into bounding rectangles, they optimize spatial searches like map zooming and collision detection. #RTrees #SpatialIndexing
3/8 💡💥 The secret sauce? The R-tree spatial indexing algorithm! Similar to how video games track moving objects, this algorithm tracks individual molecular trajectories within brain cells 🧠🕹️ #RTree #SpatialIndexing #BrainTech
Awesome team effort went into this one. The first PR for a new elasticsearch shape field type that provides indexing and searching arbitrary cartesian geometry! @elastic #spatialIndexing github.com/elastic/elasti…

This PR adds a new ShapeFieldMapper to the xpack spatial module for indexing arbitrary cartesian geometries using a new field type called shape. The indexing approach leverages lucene's new...
Proud to announce #lucene's new XYShape field for indexing and searching arbitrary cartesian geometry has landed! It will be available in an 8.2 release near you #spatialIndexing #foss4g github.com/apache/lucene-…
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions on either the Lucene or Elasticsearch side. We're always excited to talk about the new spatial data structures, performance improvements, and features. #spatialIndexing #foss4g
This has been some of the most rewarding work. Super proud of the collective effort put in by our incredible #elasticsearch #geo team. #spatialIndexing #foss4g
Elasticsearch geo_shape fields guarantee 1cm accuracy while providing fast search and discovery of spatial data at scale. See how shape indexing has evolved and improved in recent versions of #Elasticsearch and Apache #Lucene → go.es.io/36y6ugn
Thanks @SQLServerMike #sqlpass #spatialindexing // Congrats by the session, it melted my brain :)

Nice little feature that landed under the radar; in 7.8 you can index arbitrary Cartesian (x, y) points just like you can Cartesian shapes. Uses the same approach as geo but without the lat/lon limitations. #elasticsearch #spatialIndexing #foss4g github.com/elastic/elasti…

Add new point field. (#53804) by iverase · Pull Request #54879 · elastic/elasticsearch
This commit adds a new point field that is able to index arbitrary pair of values (x/y) in the cartesian space. It only supports filtering using shape queries at the moment.
