Currently working on GPU-driven extraction using GL compute shaders. 256^3 noise takes ~50ms including dispatch calls and copying the full block of floats (64MB) onto the CPU on my Radeon HD 7870. Very exciting stuff! #voxels #gamedev #voxelgamedev #indiegamedev

I'll get things started with another screenshot from Cubiquity 2. This scene was voxelized using 'Generalized Winding Numbers' extended to support multiple materials. It's not pretty (yet) but is over 2048^3 voxels and only 181Kb thanks to a Sparse Voxel DAG. #voxelgamedev
I made a system to randomly place "rasterize-able" objects, like trees. LoDs are easy - just rasterize at a lower resolution! Trees sample a cone SDF to decide whether to place leaves. #voxelgamedev
