A tip is payment for services requested. The option is the amount. If one is generous—they chose that option. They made the choice to be generous. Paying for additional services that you requested is not a gift.

You don’t tip them because that is not how it works, Anna the worthy! But guess what, if you request the services of a tipped independent contractor and you don’t tip, you better focus on those bills and not the person refusing you service.

I did not sign up as a consumer. I signed up to earn money from consumers. You would have to show me where it says consumers are entitled to free labor because they chose to use an app to communicate with a stranger with whom they are requesting help to get groceries from.

#instacart consumer, if you need someone to tell you how much to pay for a service YOU requested—an optional tip may be too complex for you. Use the grocery store service instead. Or the many other services that were created for YOUR needs.

#instacart Shoppers, if you have to be told not to accept $0-$2 for your service—then you need a job where someone else will manage your time and resources for you.

Did you know instacart will pay her after the refund is completed? So, she makes more money returning the items to the grocery store than leaving them with the ignorant customer. Did you know once the refund is complete and you report items stolen that YOU will be deactivated?

You have not paid for the groceries at this point. Instacart paid for the groceries. You have only given instacart access to your bank or credit account so they can charge you once the service (carried out by the driver) is completed. So your card on hold, is irrelevant.

Too much mental turbulence for the jester, I suppose. 😆

Was She Wrong For That? Delivery Driver Returns A Customer's $400 Order After Receiving No Tip

ACSharp reposted

If the customer is not tipping the driver, there is no incentive for the driver to user their personal vehicle and time to pick up and deliver food. No matter what doordash offers to pay the driver for use of their car, the customer will still have to pay their part for service.

ACSharp reposted

Of course companies will compete and offer different incentives to drivers and customers to use their app. The app is the business. The users of the app needs of convenience—food delivery & to earn $. There is no blame necessary just the need for everyone to play their part.

ACSharp reposted

The fee the customer pays the driver is called a tip because the amount is optional. With contractors, not employees, some people are willing to accept work at $2 some will accept only $10+. The option benefits the customer while giving the driver the opportunity to earn cash.

This is why the notice was important, because you all are confused. Drivers are not employees. DoorDash pays a fee to the driver for the use of their personal vehicle and the customer pays the driver for carrying out the service offered by the app, doordash. 1/2
