Having some fun with ⁦@Desmos⁩ this weekend - any ⁦@MSUMarchingBand⁩ fans out there recognize this? It's a section of the band's pregame show called "Spinning the S" #BandGeek #MathAndMusic #Desmos

I'm so excited to have been awarded this grant! Looking forward to having a little extra cash to transform my STEM instruction 💙📚📐🔬

21 teachers across the district were awarded classroom microgrants! Congratulations to you all! 🎉🎉🎉 #TheBestAreWithCPS @CFEgrants

Used @Desmos Polygraphs for the first time with students today. Not only is it their favorite Desmos activity that we've done so far, but it really got them using the vocabulary from the lesson! I can't wait to do more of those.

Talked about InSight today in my freshman physics class. The landing tied in perfectly with the start of our Forces at a Distance Unit. More importantly, COOL SCIENCE HAPPENING IN REAL TIME??? Talk about buy-in

There’s a quiet beauty here. Looking forward to exploring my new home. #MarsLanding

Chalked a number line from 57" to 74". Students stood on their height line. I took a class photo to show how clustered data affects the way a boxplot looks! #mtbos #statschat

Because math is for EVERYBODY!

We can create opportunities for students to see themselves and each other as powerful thinkers and learners by sharing ideas, not by "getting it right". We create space where everyone feels valued. #AAI

Introduced Ss to the @Desmos calculator today. The instructions: Make a picture using lines. It was a great way for them to have choice. I could see the wheels turning on slope, intercept, translations, domain, inequalities, and connections between representations!

If you give a mouse a cookie, he's going to want some milk. If you give students a list of common, inexpensive building materials to pick from, they're also going to want a few sheets of kevlar and some Floam. #EngineeringProject #RCAEggDrop

Happy homecoming week/twin day! Check out me and my spooky skeleton twin.

I'm trying desperately to get my physics students to get comfortable with scientific inquiry and creating hypotheses, so today we listened to a (censored) excerpt from @FuzzyLogicPod. Then we did our own spitballing answers and researching corrections just like the podcast!

Got some student choice going on in our Do Now and in our practice (not pictured). Students could pick a difficulty level that worked for them, and they have a few different processes they can use to do the work.

I LOVED my first time going to the Chicago Math Teachers' Circle. So much fun problem solving ❤️ Just the energy boost I needed to finish out week 5

Students did great reviewing for a quiz by doing some practice scenarios, then picking one from their packet to create a poster of. The bowling problem was a popular choice!
