Incredible work. I could not imagine a better person to receive this year's award.
Congratulations @marcoroth_! The Rails Core team has announced Marco as the 2025 Rails Luminary. The Luminary award exists to celebrate those in the community who have significantly advanced Rails for the benefit of all, through contributions, gems, ideas, or knowledge-sharing,…
Definitely check this out. Not enough is being said about this topic and these are vital skills.
I am doing an online workshop about AI security this Friday. Seats are limited as this is the first one and it is experimental. It costs $50 but will likely cost 2x in the future. greg.molnar.io/ai-workshop/
Excited to hear that the next Ruby Conf has been announced; July 14–16, 2026 in Las Vegas! Co-chairs are @APIguy and @JasonSwett - awesome choice for what should be a great event! Who's planning to go?
Last week we got to catch up with the one and only @APIguy, and of course he took us to a super bougie spot! Can’t wait to hang out more at @sfrubyconf next month. Might be even better views than this. 👀🌁 #RubyFriends

Great news for all who depend on a Ruby ecosystem that's healthy and secure. I know Ruby Core will do an excellent job in collaboration with @rubycentralorg. What an amazing outcome made possible by a few people doing a hard but necessary thing. ruby-lang.org/en/news/2025/1…
Love this: Ruby core taking stewardship of RubyGems/Bundler while keeping Ruby Central in the mix. No license changes, no contributor drama. THIS is how you do open source governance right. Thanks @yukihiro_matz ruby-lang.org/en/news/2025/1…
We love Matz.
Good news for the Ruby ecosystem. RubyGems now has the same governance as Ruby itself. Matz and Ruby Core as stewards. Three decades of results speak for themselves. If Ruby core has authority over where gems (by default) install from, this alignment makes sense. Viva la Ruby!…
Glad to see this for the Ruby community after all the drama lately. ruby-lang.org/en/news/2025/1…
Early APIguy feeling seen right now
The fastest way to waste a year: Build something nobody asked for, spend six months perfecting it, launch it, hear crickets, then finally ask people what they actually want.
Thinking of joining us at #SFRuby Conf? 👀 We are only selling general admission tix until Oct 22nd! That means you only have SIX DAYS to get your ticket for just $350! Afterward, tickets will increase to $450. 🐦 Get yours now & share with your team: luma.com/sfrubyconf2025

So many conversations this week about exactly this
Everyone’s talking about AI writing new code. I'm more interested in the humans giving existing code its second act. If that resonates, check out my free course for Rails developers: maintainablerails.com
Epic.
Hey @a16z ... if my post gets 10k likes, can you guys send me a semi beast mode term sheet? I'd pitch you for one, but I'm busy atm & my current bank account is complete ass for my workflow.

If this works, we’re going to try it on VC’s if we ever fundraise again…
