This domain entity is most complex piece of business logic I've ever had to handle (subscriptions with configurable payment terms, renewal frequencies, benefits, grace periods etc) but re-modeling it from CRUD to a state-machine (actor) makes it 10000x easier to reason about

Built a durable reminders / "distributed scheduler" system for Akka .NET actors yesterday. Wanted to use it for handling recurring billing and the multitude of deadline-driven edge cases that appear there. Client side invocation looks like this

Arjen was a terrific friend and a long-time contributor to our OSS project for over 10+ years. His work impacted tens of thousands of developers, but I will miss him first and foremost as a good friend.

With pain in my heart, I have to tell you that the love of my life, Arjen Smits aka Danthar, has past away on october 31, 2025. He fought a battle he couldn't win. 💔 Julie Smits

A customer of ours reported an interesting bug with this code (ShardedDaemonSets - cluster-aware work distribution). Can you spot it? What happens if there's 10 nodes all routing work to the same workers using this code?

Just published a new video / blog post: "You Don't Need to Use Akka.HealthChecks Anymore" We've deprecated Akka.HealthChecks and replaced them with a implementation that requires 1/3rd of the configuration, no additional NuGet packages, and MUCH better defaults.

A first-time contributor to @AkkaDotNET implemented DI support for our new health checks system yesterday. Merged it in today (with some minor cleanup from me, but still their design) - open source is wonderful.
