I have declared a State of Emergency ahead of the severe weather headed our way. This storm will hit at the worst possible time, as people are heading to or already in bed. Be prepared ahead of time and remain weather aware as long as this system is in the state.

We have confirmed an EF0 tornado did occur early Sunday AM in NE Troup County. Max winds of 85mph. Tornado occurred between 4:25AM and 4:27AM in a mostly wooded area, however 1 structure was hit and sustained roof damage. Thanks to Troup Co EMA for assistance on the survey
Icy roads will continue to be an issue today. Sunshine and a few hours of above-freezing temperatures could improve roadways, but with freezing temperatures again overnight, shaded or untreated surfaces will likely remain an again issue Thursday morning. #gawx
