BIO101: Introduction to Molecular and Cellular Biology Brought to you by @michael_saylor learn.saylor.org/course/index.p…
All forms of addiction, have a common biological underpinning. It’s a disruption in neural circuits that adjust pain-pleasure balance. Here I discuss those circuits with addiction and dopamine expert Dr Anna Lembke, MD @StanfordMed Find the full episode at hubermanlab.com
Here is a fun (& useful) one: That side cramp you feel running etc.? It’s not a cramp. It’s a collateral branch of the phrenic nerve innervating your diaphragm. Do 2 inhales followed by a lung-emptying exhale, 1-3X. It should resolve right away.
And for science-supported protocols for the sets and reps and recovery factors on resistance exercise, etc. That’s all here: hubermanlab.com/science-of-mus…
The data are clear: for brain & body health we should all get ~150-180min of zone 2 (mellow-ish) cardio, & 5-10 sets of resistance exercise per muscle group, per week. Intensity level of sets adjusts that +/- 4 sets. Sleep, nutrition & hormone status impact recovery. #basics

Known healthy foods - red wine, olive oil, and now GINSENG - contain molecules that directly activate the SIRT1 longevity enzyme. Did our bodies evolve to sense plants? We think so 🌱 @acsJACS tinyurl.com/2phbyehs 🌱 Our paper @CellCellPress tinyurl.com/dr8wny8w
I am thrilled @davidasinclair is launching a podcast so we can learn the science of aging, & science-supported steps to take toward living longer. (Books are great but podcasts allow for information to be extremely up to date & for responses to FAQs). Thank you @davidasinclair !
So excited about my 8-part podcast series. Will dedicate an entire show separating fact from fiction about the use of NR, NMN & NAD IVs to slow aging 💊💉📢 #podcastlife #aging #longevity Useful paper: tinyurl.com/r6vf3934

For the aficionados, after a decade of opposition from the usual skeptics, it's nice to see the above review draw NAMPT (the enzyme that makes NMN) inside mitochondria, where we discovered it 🔬 cell.com/fulltext/S0092…
Understand “reward prediction error” & you will never reply to a negative comment again. Negative comments open a dopamine anticipation loop (in the commenter). Respond and the circuit closes; they get rewarded. Don’t respond & their dopamine will eventually drop below baseline.
Here's yet another reason why I take Kion Omegas...every day (unless I'm eating a decent amount of fish that day) Do you take Omegas? Click here for the latest research on why you should: bit.ly/3jvzkpR
According to this timeline, Covid-19 was gain-of-function engineered and leaked accidentally in Aug or Sept 19 from the lab, WIV researchers who claimed that it did not lied with the knowledge (and probably on orders) of authorities. Peter Daszak acted against better knowledge.
New Huberman Lab Podcast w/ @sleepdiplomat Dr Matt Walker. We cover: caffeine, alcohol, CBD, naps, exercise, dreams, how sexual activity impacts sleep, dreams, supplements (new data/compounds) & more. Thank you Matt for your wisdom & generosity! hubermanlab.com/dr-matthew-wal…
There are a lot of reasons to hydrate well - and keep electrolyte levels in normal range. One less obvious one: blood sugar regulation. These are my personal data but this is a well established phenomenon whereby dehydration triggers a blood glucose spike. Solution: hydrate.
