“Stealing”
Congrats to the finalist well deserved and earned, but how does BYU’s 11-1 TRUE freshman QB Bear Bachmeier get left off this list?!?!?
Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year finalists Alabama CB Dijon Lee Miami WR Malachi Toney North Texas QB Drew Mestemaker Notre Dame QB C.J. Carr Ohio State QB Julian Sayin
Another example of people that cover the sport not actually liking the sport
"Does Tulane even play on tv... have they?" - @tyschmit 10 of 12 Tulane's regular season games were televised on an ESPN channel - ESPN (4x), ESPN2 (1x), ESPNU (5x) Tulane will play in their conference championship this Friday on abc
Score Guesses for this Weekend: BYU 24 Texas Tech 19 Bama 31 Georgia 27 Virginia 27 Duke 20 Ohio State 38 Indiana 21 North Texas 45 Tulane 37 1 Ohio State 2 Indiana 3 Alabama 4 Oregon 5 Georgia vs 12 UNT 6 Ole Miss vs 11 Virginia 7 BYU vs 10 Oklahoma 8 Texas A&M vs 9 Texas Tech
CFP Committee Chairman Hunter Yurachek is an idiot. These answers are absurd!
He really thinks the committee will put in an 8-5 Duke
NEW: Duke HC Manny Diaz on CFP chances🏆 “The ACC champion will always be in the College Football Playoff... That's why all of our focus right now is worrying about beating Virginia. We'll let the politicking take care of itself after that.” @AndyStaples x @AriWasserman
People forget that the only reason 2023 Texas made the playoff is BECAUSE they beat Alabama that season.
I took the time to weight next year’s schedules in the Big 12 - each opponent is graded by their total number of wins in the last 3 years with 2025 double weighted. K State avoids all the heavy hitters and could be poised for a big bounce back under Klein.
This is a huge deal for K-State
REPORT: Kansas State head coach Chris Klieman is set to announce his retirement this week, per @MERCsports Texas A&M offensive coordinator and former Wildcats QB/OC Collin Klein is lined up to replace him. on3.com/news/report-ka…
The sec espn partnership is killing college football.
One of the most bizarre moments of last night was the broadcast dismissing the need to talk about BYU because “they can play their way in,” and then pivoting to talking about Alabama — a team that can also play their way in.
BYU played in the first live college football game on ESPN in 1984, and ESPN has enjoyed having BYU in its late-night windows for decades, and ESPN gave BYU a TV deal during independence…but this graphic from ESPN is indefensible at best and antagonistic at worst.
In a 12-game power-conference slate, BYU lost one game—to the No. 4 CFP team, on its home field. At one point in that game, BYU trailed 26-0. Not great, Bob. I get it. But to the committee, nothing else BYU did this season seems to matter. The disregard for data is despicable.
Bama jumped ND so if Bama loses they still get in with 3 losses including one to FSU. Pretty obvious what the committee is doing. They are putting the teams they want to make it in the best position for their future arguments. It’s sickening.
Same could be said about Bama leapfrogging Notre Dame, makes no sense
The committee made it abundantly clear it’s not merit based. The playoffs is just the cool kids club and BYU isn’t perceived as a cool kid. ND and the SEC are the cool kids. The whole thing is a sham
If you're going to penalize a 1-loss Power Conference team for a weak strength of schedule... BYU's SOS is better than Ole Miss and Notre Dame. If you're going to penalize a team for not having the strongest power ratings (which incorporate prior year's history and recruiting…
This is all so fucking stupid. They just keep making it up as they go along. It’s like the CFP committee is going out of its way to show that the sport is run by morons.
