• $894 average a month to own, maintain and operate a car in the USA • 360,000 households in Charlotte • 95% have one car • 79% have two cars That’s 6.7B spent a year by car consumers in Charlotte CDOT budget - $3.3 Billion We can afford transit.

Not a mailbag episode, but what are some questions you would like to ask a Charlotte DOT employee?

In Charlotte, all these trees would be cleaved in twain by Duke Energy

Brooklyn has some of the best street canopies in the country

Has this guy and David Tepper been seen in the same room @josephperson?

We won’t stop fighting to lower healthcare costs for EVERY American. This week, folks across the country are getting letters saying their healthcare costs will skyrocket—because of Republican policies. We want to fix it. The GOP doesn’t even want to talk about it.

Every time a new spot opens walking distance away and I don’t have to drive across Charlotte to acquire their product/service, an urbanist angel gets its wings.

The Black Political Caucus says YES to better mobility, safer roads, and expanded transit!  Make a plan to vote #YesForMeck when early voting starts Oct. 16 and on Election Day, Nov. 4. Let’s shape a future that moves Mecklenburg forward, together.

Check out what they are doing for Durham Freeway. Council was surprised by the potential of the freeway to boulevard conversion and why people only talked about capping before. Our team depicted three options. Clear preference is no brainer. cbs17.com/news/local-new…

Competent professionals with knowledge of the framing of the deal and how it's structured, oh darn, so tragic. I can't imagine anything worse. /S

You have to love how @clt_alliance is gaming the system. They already get to appoint 2 people to the “Authority.” Now @NCLeg appointed David Longo who is one of their board members, so now they’ll have 3 appointees. That’s 22% of the spots. RIGGED. @CLTgov @MeckCounty @cltncplan

Cap 277, please. We could have a contiguous urban fabric here, and have it pay for itself, and heres an added benefit... the at grade road connections would make traffic less terrible.

So... @Tesho13 and I will be doing a "Mailbag Episode" for the #ShapingCharlottePod on Friday. Please submit your questions. Would love for them to be transit-related, but they could be about the built environment or about gondolas/cable cars over the train yard too.
