In our fifth and final short report, @AU_CLALS and @InSightCrime lay out eight areas in which policies to address IUU fishing crimes can be improved in Latin America and the Caribbean. The first area is capacity building.
The second short report by @AU_CLALS and @InsightCrime explores the nexus between IUU fishing and organized crime in the LAC region.
One out of every five fish caught around the world is thought to have originated from illegal, unreported, or unregulated (IUU) fishing. The U.S. combats this global threat to our marine ecosystems, economy, and national security. IUU fishing harms those who play by the rules.
