FIDE is outsourcing to capable hands what it can’t manage to put together on its own. The question is: couldn’t FIDE be run by competent people like Benedicte and Kjell? That would make all those “joint ventures” unnecessary.

Just goes to prove that Magnus didn't stop participating in the world championship cycle because he didn't want to be world champion or didn't have anything to prove or million such cope. He stopped participating because he was no longer as much of a favourite to win as earlier.
maybe the 2024 fischer random world championship could be incorporated into the 2027 total world championship

Nakamura’s tournament performance rating for scoring 13.5/14 against avg. opposition of 2013 is 2586. This again illustrates that even for a top player, it’s not easy to win consistently when the rating gap is very large. The Elo system is self-correcting & works remarkably well
