Just to add my 2 cents. I think and in my opinion Kramnik's response to Daniel's passing was cold and heartless. I didn't want to say anything in the beginning because it is not my place and Vlad has always been great towards me but things have gotten too far. In my personal view…
no need to worry! fide officials do often proactively make reports to the ethics committee it happens quite literally all the time, so we know exactly where it starts and ends #fidecares

Anna, thanks for the fair point. Today when so many people are annoyed with Kramnik, it looks like a very natural solution. But it requires a rather massive shift. If FIDE is to proactively interfere, then where it starts, and where it ends? Much more complex that it seems. Very…
it's amazing how many accounts have only 2 interests - politics & defending kramnik

Justice for Daniel Naroditsky
aside from the sickening attacks on danya's friends and family, it should be noted that FIDE did intervene during kramnik's witch hunt by inviting him to help their "dedicated task force"

Amount of love given to Danya post-mortem is unprecedented. I can't recall anything of the kind. But here is the problem - where all of you were when Danya was alive and unwell? I am not talking now about stepping in when he was accused. Although it is a separate important…

i think the thing that hits me hardest about Danya being gone is the loss of such an incredible chess historian. i remember one stream when he was going through the NYT archives sharing his love of chess history w his audience and it made me passionate abt my own work 🤍
In February 2022 Daniel Naroditsky sent me a message to say that he appreciated my blog & my posts on Twitter. I was really touched then that he, already a famous figure in chess broadcasting, should take a moment to encourage an ordinary guy like me, and I still am. RIP Daniel.

danya was hounded to his death and every disgusting sycophant who has been encouraging kramnik should be held responsible
kramnik is now suing naroditsky for, oh idk, "being accused of cheating"?

The World Lost a Great Man Today
This video is the reason I fell in love with chess; watching this video is the reason I went from “a guy who plays chess with his friend sometimes” to someone who will play and love this game for the rest of my life. I’m truly thankful for Danya youtu.be/wYYyRsIzh_4?si…

would be a good moment for someone to hit the "shut the fuck up" button on the back of kramnik's head
horribly sad news about naroditsky. there are few people in the chess world that are so universally beloved. and i hope, deep down, he knew that i didn't know him well and my interactions with him were brief - but they were the same as everyone else's, just a genuinely nice guy
passing these out at the chess club to everyone i beat at blitz

not true, there was a theoretical possibility of hikaru losing to one of the 1900s
As PHN said he was also getting screwed as he was deserving pre covid. I also feel it gets overlooked how much better his comp was than others who've gone for the ratings spot since. Where Firouzja and Hikari both played sub 2000 players, he played games mainly vs 2500+ & Wei Yi.
