What an amazing event that was! I remember it as one of the first to receive live coverage. I didn’t do anything else during those days except go through the games and reports. I still keep the newspaper clippings.

Do I look angry? I hope so, because I’ve been furious over the wealthy, powerful free world's cowardice and complacency since Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014. Western leaders still treat Ukrainian lives as less important than money, resulting in the waste of both.

If you are around 50, imagine beating the World Champion, a tactical and calculational genius of approximately Gukesh's age, 13-8 in a match, winning 10 games. That is what Botvinnik did to Tal. Never ceases to amaze me.
