It's been brilliant to meet so many new children and parents today at the @JCAWakefield Summer Fair. I've loved chatting with the parents of the children who attend our after-school club there too. It's great to hear how much your children love coming to the club on a Friday.

Year 4 have had a great first day back! They have loved starting their new unit of computing where they are using the app ⁦@inkscape⁩ to create a tessellating pattern. We cannot wait to work on these to create a repeating pattern using different shapes and colours.

In Year 3, we have been working on presenting skills in computing. First, we made a Popplet including facts about one aspect of the Vikings. Next, we created a script including timings and actions. We are looking forward to filming the videos next. @ComputingJca 📽️

Teamwork @JCAWakefield ... Our sessions allow children to work together to solve different problems. Children develop their social communication skills whilst working in pairs, sharing ideas and helping one another. We are developing so much more than lego builders. 👏👍🤖💜

Forming learning links between @ComputingJca and DT ⭐️

Today, Year 5 used their compass skills to help create a Caesar Cipher. They developed their understanding of what a Caesar Cipher is and how it is used. They worked hard to make an accurate and purposeful tool, enabling us to encrypt/decrypt secret messages. @JCA__DT
