Chart of the Day... 🤔 It's very unusual for payrolled employment not to rise - outside of pandemics. But Labour has managed it.

It's very unusual for payrolled employment not to rise - outside of pandemics.

But Labour has managed it.

Correction: Labour are choosing to spend £84m of taxpayers money etc. Good move, but it is our money, not their money.

BREAKING: Labour is investing an extra £84 million to help prevent homelessness this winter.

It's very sad to see a proven entrepreneur leave the UK, having created a company with over 10,000 jobs and paid £200m in UK tax. Surely we want to attract these people, to do more of the same.

If I was Nik I would have absolutely made the same decision. 18% holding of Revolut. Company will be worth $200BN without a doubt. $36BN position at that price. His cap gains bill alone would be $8BN-$10BN. Now in the UAE it will be $0. The Labour government has to…

If anyone has got one of these letters, I would be keen to see how it is worded. Please get in touch. Thanks.

We're coming after Covid fraudsters. Letters have started arriving on doorsteps, warning suspected Covid cheats to pay up now or face the Covid fraud hit squad. We'll get your money back.

This is pure populist nonsense… @ZackPolanski says “there are people who go to bed each night and earn more money in a night than this entire neighbourhood could earn in a year” … apparently we need to tax these people more to solve all of our problems at a national level.…

Let's make hope normal again.

Whoopsie. From miss speaking to miss spelling. Starmer will use this easy goal in PMQs.

'Why can't you spell Britain?' @NatashaC confronts @JamesCleverly on one of the most pressing issues to come out of the Conservative Party conference.

But the company does not have £122m sitting in its coffers to pay, so what is the compelling legal argument to transfer the debt to the directors? Anyone addressed the elephant in the room yet?

We said we'd crack down on Covid fraud. We are.

If Labour are saying the same thing before the next GE, then people might think that the failure to get growth was their fault. Does it take 5 years to turn it around? Nope.

Chancellor Rachel Reeves tells the Labour Party Conference "our economy would be £140bn bigger" if the UK had kept up with other advanced economies during the 14 years of Conservative government Follow live: bbc.in/42jFJeN

The Government's plan for mandatory digital ID must be stopped in its tracks. In the PM's own book, he discusses Article 8 of the ECHR: The right to respect for private and family life, home and correspondence. See here. 👇

My primary concern is not the data. It's that a digital ID will not be used for proof but for control - that you'll soon need a digital ID to be allowed to do certain things and that the govt will set the conditions for that. Then it is only one further step to having to remain…

I've always found it odd that people who oppose government ID cards are usually more than happy to own a loyalty card that allows private companies to keep track of tons of personal information about you.

Let's also ask the tailors in Saville Row what they think of political decisions made by Cleverly.

Did Keir Starmer borrow that suit from someone a lot bigger? Crumpled at the ankles, too long in the cuff, loose enough to get another bloke in there with him. And someone please tell him about the buttons.

They are only on #48, Employment Rights Bill and it's 10pm. Going to be a late one. Live votes so far: votes.parliament.uk/Votes/Commons Basically, Labour are doing what they want and ignoring the Lordsmaterial amendments. ERB will survive intact.

The UK has the most expensive electricity, also taxed the most. Pathetic.

Here’s the thing about Labour’s shiny little bar chart, it’s not just spin, it’s deception. They proudly trumpet that the UK grew “faster than all G7 countries” in the first half of 2025, flashing a fat red bar at 1.0% compared to the US at 0.7%, France, Japan, and Canada all…

What is it that the Reform party are offering that makes Labour so scared, that they need to resort to this kind of desperate post. What will Labour do when an opposition party actually has policies and is credible? The comms need sorting out.

Anyone care to guess what this is all about? Fishing boat?! #tax

Why are Labour going on about Farage so much? All it does is weaken the perception of their own party. Best foot forward is basic strategy.

Nigel Farage repeatedly misled the public by telling people he owned his constituency home. He didn't. How can we have any confidence he's telling the truth now?

At #PMQs the leader of the opposition accused the ex-deputy leader of "evading" taxes. Rayner did not evade tax. She was foolish not to take the advice that she should have sought expert advice - that is what is termed "careless" in tax geek world. She didn't even seem to realise…
