.@WomenDeliver is a symptom of a much larger problem in the development sector. Over the past week we have seen Black and POC employees from across the sector call out injustices they have endured at the hands of “so-called” feminist organizations. bit.ly/2N0rKUi

Intersectionality is not additive. It’s fundamentally reconstitutive. Pass it on.
An important read for anyone who has supported or attended @WomenDeliver. Sounds like there was institutional racism if when you peel back their shiny curtain. @Katja_Iversen #WomenDeliver theguardian.com/global-develop…
🚨🚨@Katja_Iversen, the CEO who oversaw a racist and toxic work culture at @WomenDeliver, is an advisor to Unilever, a company that makes racist skin-lightening creams. That’s the white supremacy of global health.
Yes, @Katja_Iversen did take a "leave of absence." But it's unclear if that's paid or unpaid. Meanwhile @kathleensherwin, who's implicated in the allegations, is interim CEO. Where's the transparency, @WomenDeliver? We need an interim CEO and a process we can trust.

.@kathleensherwin should not be the interim CEO of @WomenDeliver. She managed the HR and recruitment process for nearly two years and held similar roles concurrently at other comparable orgs. Join us in demanding leadership we can trust.
No firings. No accountability. The CEO gets to take a ‘leave of absence.” Is this paid or unpaid? Is termination on the table? Did the board of directors know about these allegations? Are other senior leadership also being investigated? LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY IS WHITE SUPREMACY.

1/14 A lot of companies are putting out statements in regards to #BlackLivesMatter and most are doing so to follow the trend.@TheENDFund has stayed silent during my whole tenure at the organization when I faced racism every week from my supervisor. Why was @EllenAgler so silent
As a public health organization based in the US we cannot be silent. We see racism as a public health issue, which undermines #HealthForAll. We stand w/ black & brown communities & affirm that #BlackLivesMatter.
Please hire in Black people in leadership positions other than Director of Diversity and Inclusion

"Previous and current staff...complained of a toxic working environment and said the organisation suffered from a 'white saviour' complex." "White faux feminism" is central to @WomenDeliver, but it's far from the only INGO guilty of this. theguardian.com/global-develop…
