This debate about whether Kevin Warsh is a hawk or not misses the point. Even if someone raised Paul Volcker from the grave, put a cigar in his mouth, and nominated him to be Fed Chair, it wouldn't change a thing. As @LynAldenContact is fond of saying, nothing stops this train.
This is very important. This is exactly why sleep is more important even more than diet or exercise. An average person can accumulate over 30 trillion DNA nicks/damage per day. When we are awake, energy is prioritized for thinking, movement, and metabolism/digestion etc ...,…
This is observed in clinical practice too. The acute LBP benefits from MT (but you to get to exercise ultimately). Chronic pain should just get straight to movement — progressive overload, starting from wherever they are
The effectiveness of manual therapy in people with chronic non-specific low back pain: an umbrella review with meta-analysis sciencedirect.com/science/articl… MT offers significant short-term benefits in reducing pain & disability in CNLBP…..effects tend to diminish over time.

Not prescribing exercise is psychiatric malpractice.
Creatine more effective with hot water than cold
Small amounts of exercise are associated with a longer life. Walking is particularly effective.
We just published the largest review of creatine for brain health. Increased brain creatine levels may function as a buffer to metabolic stress leading to neurological benefits. Doses >5g/day are likely required for brain benefits.
Yet another study showing similar muscle growth when using heavy vs light loads. The evidence is overwhelming on the topic: loading ranges of ~5 to 30 reps build muscle equally. Very nice study design from the lab of @mackinprof 💪 physoc.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1113/JP…
For the first time in human history, scientists witnessed the precise instant human development initiates. What they observed wasn't biological randomness, it was orchestrated precision. At fertilization's exact moment, a coordinated biochemical wave erupts across the egg's…
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life
A massive new study on peak performance included 34,000 international top performers: Nobel laureates, renowned classical music composers, Olympic champs, and the world’s best chess players. It shows early specialization is a trap, and the road to greatness is long and varied.
Just 28 days without parabans and phthalates turned off breast cancer genes. Researchers followed a group of healthy women who routinely used common personal-care products containing parabens and phthalates—chemicals found in everything from shampoo and lotion to makeup and…
Supplementing the three primary collagen amino acids glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline in a 3:1:1 ratio produces consistent, measurable benefits across worms, mice, and humans. In humans, skin outcomes (wrinkles, texture, elasticity, and hydration) improved 4–6% within 1–3…
Oh no. What will the manual therapy sucks crowd say now? Grade A evidence for MT AND for dry needling for short-term pain relief. Don't care what those folks say. We can argue about the mechanisms for sure, but hip OA, SCFE, etc - it helps and is a compliment to exercise.
Check out this #PhysiologyShort where Prof. Juha J. Hulmi (@JYUBiolPA) explains his research finding that human skeletal muscle possesses both reversible #proteomic signatures and a retained proteomic memory after repeated #resistance training 🏃 🧬 buff.ly/nDbVTZ9
For so many musculoskeletal conditions, to me, it makes so much more sense to bypass primary care and surgical specialties and simply go right to a physical therapist. Does not seem to be a very controversial opinion any longer to me.
Did you know: Just 6 minutes of HIIT exercise can significantly boost BDNF - a key protein for better brain health? A recent study found that six 40-second all-out sprints boosted plasma BDNF far more than 90 minutes of light exercise
