A good read. This programme was delivered in a way many promise but less often deliver.

Worrying when you read that this was 'not a budget for growth'. Makes you wonder how we move out of this cycle.

Marginal tax rates in Scotland on income between £100,000 and £125,000 will be 69.5%. Explained here: thetimes.co.uk/article/3977b9… No OECD country hits that rate: stats.oecd.org/index.aspx?Dat… Not much will be raised and optics for investors/high skilled migrants not good.

Great to see @bellesglasgow putting in a show. Band and crowd great, and the films added nicely to the vibe

Well worth a read. Important point on shifting mix of people and labour market implications

My Sunday Times piece today on the combination of record levels of immigration and a continued tight labour market: We have record immigration. So why are we so short of workers? thetimes.co.uk/article/e2806f…

How could you not buy this. What a pitch 🤣🤣

I had given up hope of ever seeing Brian Eno live. Tonight was well worth the wait. A stunning show with the great man standing centre stage and so much else happening around him

The joys of an early run in London. Able run through usually busy streets and no need to stop at road crossings.

Sadly we don't know - if the labour market is loosening or tightening - if we have a UK specific participation problem - if the numbers of self employed are collapsing The data is rubbish The UK’s ‘official’ labour data is a nonsense ft.com/content/d6bdfe… via @ft

Super excited for this. Amazed demand has not been higher. Maybe people holding off hoping for more dates outside London

This is a depressing read but essential read for anyone interested in Scottish colleges.

Rising staff costs are colleges’ biggest financial pressure. Voluntary redundancies have been sought, but some colleges may need further, significant staffing reductions. More in @AuditorGenScot’s report: bit.ly/3Z9ppKF
