Here is a counter argument. IMO, we should focus on the problems -- which are complex & multifaceted -- and avoid simplistic definitions. Focusing exclusively on genetics does not benefit patients & science.

Cancer is a disease involving genetic, signaling, metabolic, endocrine, and other abnormalities. The statement "cancer is a genetic disease" is rather simplistic and potentially misleading. cancer.gov/about-cancer/u…
