Giant Hogweed is a dangerous invasive plant that can cause extreme burns & even blindness - & it’s running rampant through Western NY. I joined local officials in Bennington yesterday to call on the USDA to immediately boost ongoing local efforts to eradicate this harmful plant.

We've had questions raised by some in the Va Turfgrass world re whether or not they have Giant Hogweed on their property. Here's a new pub from @VTAgWeeds & colleagues on a weed that's getting a lot of attention this summer: pubs.ext.vt.edu/content/dam/pu…. #vaturf

Be on the lookout for Giant Hogweed. It has large palmated leaves, dark red/purple splotches, and coarse white hair. Sap from this plant can cause nasty burns. Contact us or your municipal council if you suspect you've found any in a public area. stjohns.ca/living-st-john…
