Winter Storm arrives later today! Near blizzard conditions for much of the area with strong northerly winds. Several inches of snow will be common over northern areas with lower amounts to the southeast. Travel should be delayed. #kswx

It will be very difficult to see the Northern Lights this far south, but if you would like to try...find a viewing location with very little light pollution and look low on the northern horizon.

Strong to severe storms are expected to develop late this afternoon into the evening. The primary concerns include damaging wind gusts and localized flash-flooding, although large hail and a brief tornado cannot be ruled out. #kswx

I predict @LawrenceKS_PD having a slow night this evening as #Jayhawk fans console each other from the comforts of their homes. Fasten your #Seatbelt before heading out for more kleenex... #SunflowerShowdown #KStateMBB #SavageTweet 😆

Consider setting the alarm clock a few minutes early tomorrow morning. ⏰ Light snow looks to develop within the Kansas City area before sunrise. While minor accumulations are expected, it may be enough to produce slick roads and delay travel a bit during the AM commute.

After consulting with our partners, we've gone ahead and skipped the advisory and gone straight to a "Patio Warning" for this afternoon. Call to action: Text your friends, find a patio, and enjoy yourself. It's beautiful outside! #mowx #kswx #KC #Friday
