"If the Holy Spirit was withdrawn from the church today, 95% of what we do would go on and no one would know the difference. If the Holy Spirit had been withdrawn from the New Testament church, 95% of what they did would stop, and everybody would know the difference." - A W Tozer

Fascinating to read. The odds are even more stacked against you than you think.

The Economist has a great piece on strategy sportsbetting apps use to throttle smart bettors: ▫️Skilled players are “sharps” and given “stake restrictions” if they play too well (bets are capped). ▫️Rest of players called “Square”. ▫️In 2025, 4.3% of active UK accounts had a…

He's right, but I'm even more cynical because I know that Republicans routinely make the same trade. They do it with how they spin the events of J6 and Trump's role in it. This is why I stopped voting years ago; I won't play a game that sacrifices truth for the sake of power.

I have begun to despair over the possibility of living in the same nation as Democrats. The way they lie about what transpired in Minnesota--despite the video evidence from multiple angles--strongly suggests that they value power over truth. How can we survive as a nation when…

Am I just an ignorant Baptist, or is this a real thing? Do people in other denominations actually think of "vows" to their particular church or denomination as being equal to one's marriage vows?

The modern church takes church membership vows even less seriously than marriage vows I made vows to my congregation and to the PCUSA as a denomination. Even if I wanted to leave (I don't) it would be sinful for me to join a different denomination. Why do people these days…

I don't know anything about this bougie mac & cheese, but I can easily make my granny's recipe in one of those deep Corningware bowls for under $20. Easily. It was a staple at holidays and Sunday dinners when I was a kid. This guy could turn a pot of spaghetti into a $90 ordeal.

American wanted to make “a good mac and cheese” He wanted something that doesn’t come in a box, so he went out and got the ingredients “This is how you know we're screwed. How much money do you think it cost me to make mac and cheese? Just take a guess” He shows the…

I believe that one can disagree with the conclusions he draws from Scripture while appreciating the fact that he's asking good questions. This goes for any point of doctrine, no matter how well established it may be.

Kirk Cameron reveals he no longer believes in 'eternal conscious torment' for the wicked, which he suggests is "cruel and unusual punishment." Instead, he leans heavily towards annihilationism, saying: "It fits the character of God."
