Universal screening strategies have been stealthy. They started small and generic: a logical and necessary step. Then: Privatized. Commercialized. Metasticized. Districts now give MULTIPLE screeners of the SAME SKILLS because each program comes w/ 1 Wasting time. Sorting kids.
District and state level folks need to come and assess a bunch of kindergarteners and give them the KRA, math benchmarks, math unit tests, alphabet assessments, and AI reading programs BEFORE they tell schools how many assessments we need to give at the start of the year.
