A great question. The reasons are not scientific. Technological challenges (likely constraining many people) are significant but decreasing. It’s time to transcend old thinking and rise to the challenge of biological systems.

Why is it that many people remain focused on gene level function? For decades we have known otherwise. There many reasons for the bias, some are technological, others are inherent to human intellect.
