Rachel Reeves claimed that VAT on private school fees was “absolutely necessary” to recruit 6,500 teachers. We all knew she was lying. One year on, state schools are 400 teachers down & it transpires that it wasn’t necessary. She did it purely out of spite & vindictiveness.
