I am happy to propose a model for mammalian #mitochondria UPR signaling, published @Nature. nature.com/articles/s4158… Mito protein misfolding induces two cytosolic signals –mtROS and mito protein precursor accumulation. These activate the mito UPR via a DNAJA1-HSF1 signaling axis.
We’re delighted to welcome Prof. Christian Münch (@MuenchLab) as a speaker at Horizons in Molecular Biology 2025! He explores protein aggregation, cellular quality control, and the mitochondrial unfolded protein response. 👉 Register now: bit.ly/4j5kioh #Horizons2025
