We remember the Battle of White Bird Canyon, fought 146 years ago today. We honor the individuals who defended the tribe, and the casualties on both sides of the battle. Today was the beginning of a pursuit across the nation for freedom, which sadly was never realized for most.

Following guidance from the CDC and recommendations from state and local public health in consultation with NPS Public Health Service officers, the Spalding visitor center at Nez Perce NHP is temporarily closed. Updates will be posted to the park website and social media.
The March 14, 2020, Tai Simpson talk at Nez Perce National Historical Park is postponed. We will keep you updated about the reschedule as we have more information. We are closely monitoring the situation related to (COVID-19). For updates, visit nps.gov/coronavirus
