Many people are smarter than doctors. But it's hard to find people with the intelligence, determination, and ability to delay gratification like doctors. This is especially true of doctors pre-2000s. The online health gurus simply couldn't hack it. They'd fail by 2nd year.

If you FOIA’d & got back & read tons of their internal email chains (like I did) you know I’m right when I say that the MPH-haver Experts at places like CDC making these calls whom we’re supposed to Trust on all things are not exactly intellectually sophisticated mental giants

Former CDC head Rochelle Walensky admits that nobody at the CDC talked rapidly waning vaccine efficacy or even considered variants Yet they demanded vaccine mandates and passports anyway, and somehow they're stunned that they've lost the public's trust

I spoke to a resident the other day who was woken up at 3am to order cough drops. This is because someone mandated all orders must be placed by a physician. A licensed nurse isn’t allowed to give an over the counter “medication” with an adverse risk profile no worse than a…

Physicians' computerized order entry of CPOE is the worst use of physician time possible. Prior to the HITECH Act, order entry was done by ward clerks who were hospital employees. With EHRs the hospitals were able to fire all of the ward clerks and they were replaced with…

Don’t scapegoat doctors. They don’t deserve it. They sacrificed their entire lives to help people. While others were partying in college, they were memorizing the Krebs Cycle. While others were traveling in their 20’s, they were doing gross anatomy, staying up until 2am to…

Ok. Which policy do we advocate for? And what expertise do we bring—more than a plumber or factory worker? And this: given society’s polarization, how do we serve patients who may seriously disagree w our policy stands? Doctors are like judges. We should be neutral. No COI

We should be working to influence policy based on facts. Based on evidence. Our being quiet about politics is not helpful to our patients. It IS part of our job. I agree to disagree with @drjohnm (again) We are the experts & our policy makers need us. &they do ask our advice
