What would happen if we saw school related distress as feedback on the system? As a psychologist, I meet many children who are distressed by school. Usually I’m being asked to change that. Can I make them less anxious? Can I make them attend without protest? 1/

Unpopular opinion I hate when non-Māori call themselves ‘settlers’. I don’t really care how bad you feel about colonisation. I’d rather you identified as working class so I know that YOU know your class position and that tearing this system down means liberation for both of us.

Theologically sound, in my opinion. Probably true as well for ritual of all religions/none.
Healing is a process, not a destination. It is a ritual, not a single spell. All magic, at its heart, is an attempt at healing.

I love science. I also love the concept of magic. I don't find that these ideas conflict. Fact and magic go together like sound and song, like ink and poetry, like truth and metaphor. A good metaphor does not destroy the truth. It brings it home to a human context. (1/4)

I just noticed that something called "Morvah Standing Stones" now features on Google Maps, complete with visitor reviews. I'm rather delighted about this, because the "forgotten people of the past" who built it were Terry Davey and his front-loader, in the late 1990s.

Call your legislators at all levels. Encourage the passage of FEDERAL protection of the LGBTQIA+ community. Queer lives matter. Also, be a safe adult. Be like my mom. Every kid and every person deserves to feel safe.
