London fire safety scandal victim. My building was expertly built by Fairview New Homes & signed off by Barnet Council. And now it's a tinderbox.

2️⃣ years since Michael Gove’s reset. 💰 We're still paying to fix problems we didn’t cause. ⌛ The firms that profited still sit on their hands. ❌ Promises to make product manufacturers pay “instead of leaseholders” have been broken. Innocent leaseholders are #StillTrapped

EXCL: The Labour council accused of overcharging residents thousands of pounds for services that hardly happened - and ignoring warnings about collapsing balconies. My @BBCNewsnight investigation with @jasmin_dyer @liamweir14 @jackwgarland:
💸 It is not just offshore freeloaders 💸 If England’s local councils are shafting flat owners with opaque, padded and even fictitious service charges, we know it is the leasehold system which needs binning. This isn’t about a few rogues or bad apples. Well done, @MattLismore!
2/9 The Landmark Investments / TLT update is possibly the worst take I've seen so far. It pips that from a surveyor sporting a Trumpian orange tan who seemed to think the European Court of Human Rights is part of the legislative process.
1/9 Entirely unsurprising vampiric freeholders are showing their true bully boy colours over #leaseholdreform Threatening to sue the government if they do not get their way is exactly the same high-handed treatment they dole out to residential leaseholders daily.
Landmark Investments thinks @michaelgove is playing chicken 🐔 with 1.5 trillion of long leasehold property to win votes. THEY REALLY ARE DESPERATE !!!! #LeaseholdBill @team_greenhalgh @LordRoyKennedy
Here’s the rub: *don’t invest in assets that have no intrinsic value* If you do, you’re making a bad investment, and that’s on you The value of investment can go down as well as up

Government plans to cap payments could lead to compensation claims from pension funds, trade body warns
Innocent is a strong word to apply to bottom-feeding scum like the members of the Residential Freehold Association. None of your members had any issue passing on costs to the only entirely innocent party, being leaseholders.
These revelations raise serious questions about the Govt's approach to building safety. We have consistently highlighted numerous flaws in the current regime, which passes responsibility onto innocent parties & creates unnecessary delays to remediation. theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/o…

Fair to say news of Gove’s return has been greeted with much relief for many caught up in the building safety scandal. Gove widely perceived as the first minister to truly “get it” and make progress, with much more still to do.
