Numbered exits were proposed back in 2020, with this rendering included in a report. Difficult to understand why the proposed designs have gotten worse over these past 5 years. Hopeful that TTC will take feedback seriously when they begin rolling out new signage.

Numbered exits are proposed, although presentation is suboptimal. Signs are too reliant on presenting all possible information at once and are filled with icons. Exits now introduce three separate icons: a yellow door, number, and pedestrian. Compared to MX simpler approach.

Line names have returned, which is the correct approach, and consistent with MX approach. When the TTC removed line names from signage, they were forced to use either "Eastbound Westbound" or "Kennedy Kipling" to refer to the Bloor-Danforth Line.

Sample of proposed TTC signage presented at Board Meeting this week. Issue persists that signage is cluttered with icons unfamiliar to visitors. Nothing on the sign intuitively represents a subway station. Compare to MX approach which explicitly includes subway icon.

Question for the handy folks, is there any decent interior paint that isn't filled with polymers?
Environmental Defence isn’t perfect, but it’s pretty cool
Pretty cool to be out in Scarberia and have all 3 or 4 buses that pass me on the way to the train station be electric. (Even though the electric buses have been forced on transit agencies for all the wrong reasons.)
A bit annoyed it seems nobody asked Doug Ford how replacing speed cameras with infrastructure is meant to work when you’ve banned bike lanes
If there is a "post RMTransit" project for me, it's probably at the intersection of society / technology / and the environment.
It's remarkable hearing people in Canada talk about how the EV mandates are too much and how we can't get enough EVs on the roads while Euro countries are doing way better than us on adoption, and especially cold northern Euro countries.
Transit Should Be Fast, Comfortable, and Safe. Read my thoughts on two recent articles on this topic in my latest article.

We encourage everyone to fill this out and indicate your support for platform doors being included in the 2026 budget.

I have this food product that I love, made in Canada, B-Corp, it's almost perfect except for one dubious environmental practice. Emailed them about it, hope to hear back and report back.
Remember folks if there are platform doors, stuff won’t fall on the tracks and catch fire…

Line 2 Bloor-Danforth: No service between St George and Ossington stations due to a fire.
Basically every 12 story building in Toronto has the same or more elevator doors as would be required for a subway platform (24)…nobody would say that the cost of elevator doors are too prohibitive…not even for buildings built before the 1950s…
We hope victor gets out of his car and checks out the subway system in Vietnam, it’s got platform doors at all stations…just like the last city he was in - Singapore….
Ontario has officially touched down in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam! As the final stop on our ASEAN leg, this vibrant city marks the closing chapter of a successful trade and investment mission filled with productive exchanges, new partnerships, and promising opportunities.
Alberta should try to run an economy that is open to things other than oil
