Representing #NY11 has been the honor of my life. No matter what life has in store for us, I will be on the frontlines, making sure our city, and country live up to their promise. Watch my full farewell speech:

We need more people like Dr. Ahmad Jaber in this country, who leave their mark on society through humble & dedicated work on behalf of others. We mourn his loss, but take inspiration from the organizations he left behind to carry on his work for the Muslim American community.

It’s taken far too long, but I’m glad that we’re finally able to get bipartisan COVID-19 relief across the finish line. It’s important to get whatever money we can out the door now, but this bill must be a down-payment, not the end of federal assistance.

If @RepMaxRose and I have our way, for events like this upcoming storm and other emergency management incidents Staten Island would have its own central command of sorts. We have a site and willing partners on two levels of gov't. More details before the year’s over. #waittosee

As we prepare for the nor’easter, I know many Staten Islanders are concerned we’ll be forgotten like in previous storms. @HeyNowJO and I have been working on a permanent fix with several levels of government to ensure it does not happen again. Details to come by end of the year.

In light of recent electoral results, some have begun to wonder if Democrats should soft-pedal the fight for equal justice, if they should take a step back from fighting for economic security, or even just give up. I am here to say absolutely not.

We’ve gotten 6 pieces of legislation signed into law, helped thousands of Staten Islanders and South Brooklynites, and brought home nearly $200 million to #NY11, but we’ve got a hell of a lot left to do. Here’s a look back on all we’ve accomplished in this first term:

Michael Ollis is the definition of an American hero, and we’re now one step closer to putting his legacy and his heroism on display for all who come through NY Harbor. Proud to work with @HeyNowJO to break through the red tape. silive.com/coronavirus/20…

After much frustration and pleading from so many in the community, I'm glad that @NYGovCuomo has heard our concerns and is working with us to ensure our children can safely go back to school.

New: @NYGovCuomo announces agreement on testing protocol that will allow schools in red/orange micro-cluster zones to reopen: mass testing before school reopens & then weekly surveillance testing. State will provide free rapid-result test kits for schools wishing to participate

It's about damn time. Thank you @RepPeteKing for fighting to make sure this money made it back to the FDNY yesterday, and for your leadership on #Renew911VCF so that hopefully this is the last time the government is ever able to rip off our 9/11 heroes. nydailynews.com/news/politics/…

Thank you @RepMaxRose. Brooklyn and Staten Island needs leaders like you.

Over 100 years ago my great grandfather fled anti-Semitism in Eastern Europe for the shining beacon of New York City. Now storefronts just like the diner he once owned are being defiled with anti-Semitic hatred. It's got to stop.
