TEST TEST TEST 6/2/2025 Today is the scheduled monthly test of the outdoor warning sirens in Riley County. This is only a test. Sirens will sound around 10:30 a.m. During an emergency, if you hear the sirens SEEK SHELTER INDOORS IMMEDIATELY.

3/21/2025NO BURNING IN RILEY COUNTY Gusty winds and low relative humidity will lead to VERY HIGH FIRE DANGER this afternoon. Very high fire danger will likely continue into Saturday and Sunday. We also have a chance for thunderstorms late Saturday night into early Sunday morning.
3/19/2025 NO BURNING IN RILEY COUNTY Strong winds gusting to 60+ mph will create high fire danger again today. No outdoor burning is allowed. Please continue to take precautions to keep the community safe from wildfires.

The brownish color in this satellite image (circled in yellow) is blowing dust coming from TX and wildfire smoke in OK. Strong SW winds are gusting 50-60 mph. We've gotten reports of reduced visibility from this. You may also smell smoke from this heading into the evening. #kswx
