Runs until Root Passes Tendulkar

Counting down Test runs until Root overtakes Tendulkar (15,921) | Anything non-cricket should be taken as a joke | Not affiliated with any player or body
The three fellas who operate this account have also occasionally used it to engage in conversations about their other interests, football, politics etc. which was fine when we had 15 followers but now it’s ticked over 200 we’ve agreed to stick to Sport from now on
This is blatant rewriting, plenty was said about Qatar and boycotts happened
How are people threatening to boycott the World Cup in the USA because of ICE when in Qatar - 400 - 500 migrant workers died doing construction work for the World Cup and you all said nothing …
“I sort of take offence to that to be honest” 😳 The audacity to say that. I don’t understand England’s obligation to stick this non delivering coach. You’ve just been hammered 4-1 and six months ago you couldn’t beat an Indian team in transition at home with pitches that…
Will Brendon McCullum change his ways as England move on from Ashes defeat? 🤔
The remarkable thing about Test cricket is that it thrives in an attention-starved era that would never invent it. #Ashes
Classless
Sad to hear the news of Terry Yorath’s passing. He was a warrior & won fans over wherever he played. He was great for us at Coventry & the reason I got Gabby a job at Sky. I had no idea who she was when we met but I knew her dad. RIP Terry. Your daughter did you proud.
If you remove big scores the average drops, huge if true
Root failed in 8 innings this series. Averages 12 if you remove his hundreds.
If the Aussies had a review go like that they’d still be whineing about it on an Amazon documentary two years from now, but because Stokes wanted clarity it’s “whingeing poms” 🤷🏻♂️
Based on nothing at all, except the fact that the “big 6” aren’t getting it all their own way, clueless take
Has to be the lowest quality Premier League since its inception.
In my heart of hearts I know James is right but I also sort of want him tried for treason at the same time
Root would need to keep this up for another 5 years before he could be compared to Smith. And even then he needs Smith to stop scoring runs now really.
Don’t rule out Baz calling Root for a game of golf when he’s on 15,900 #JusticeForJimmy
If England ever forced Joe Root to retire, I’d find another sport
Mental thing to say tbh
"I don't really understand him when he talks batting" 😂 Jacob Bethell with brutal honesty discussing Joe Root 😅
Joe Root has 24 Test hundreds in the last five years. Enough to place 'Root since '21' third on the all-time England list behind himself (41) and Alastair Cook (33). 24 hundreds in 66 Tests.
Both modern greats with similarities and differences, both have poor captaincy records for different reasons, Smith had the higher peak but Root has had the longer peak, we should enjoy them while we can
Crazy that Root is still 10 away Ashes tons behind Smith. His peak was just insane. Root has longevity but Smith was just unstoppable at his very best. It’s an obvious debate but when you break it down, it’s quite interesting. For me, Smith comes out 1st, but it’s very close.
By my calculations 1,985 runs ago was during Sri Lanka’s tour of England in 2024, specially the old Trafford test which was 19 tests ago (happy to be corrected)
For context 1,985 runs ago for Root was sometime in 2024, I’ll try to work out exactly when

If the highlight of my festive sport fixtures was my rivals rivals drawing at home to one of the leagues in form sides despite missing 7 first team players to AFCON and injury I’d simply be quiet tbh
