The Genesis creation narrative introduces us to God as a Divine Artisan, The Master Potter, carefully shaping humanity from the earth. This imagery of God as a potter and humans as clay is a powerful metaphor for our story journey. Irenaeus, an early 2nd century Christian…

A church that sees the cross of Jesus as the central event of history can never identify any political order with the reign of God.

I believe with all my heart that renewal is coming to the church. But it won’t be the revival of us taking back anything; it’s gonna be the revival of us laying down everything. It’s the church returning to the way of the cross. We are Jesus people.

Thanks @AdamMGrant! I need this reminder today.

Progress rarely happens in a straight line. It typically unfolds in loops. Day by day, it can feel like you’re spinning your wheels. If you look back on your trajectory over months or years, you can see forward movement. Major growth is the result of many seemingly minor turns.

The brilliance of Jesus political strategy is that he doesn't grab us by the shirt and shout in our face; he invites us to supper and tells us a subversive story.

I’m beginning to think that, much like the Ouija Board, Wordle is a portal to hell.

This is what leadership looks like.

Jesus came to provide us true freedom - true life and liberty in the Kingdom of God. If we as his followers truly believe that, why do we continue to enslave ourselves to political party in the name of “pursuing freedom”? Why do we settle for less than all that Jesus offers?

May we all find our “one sermon.”

I often think about this story from Eugene Peterson’s funeral a few years ago. Whether explicit or implicit, this has become my goal every time I interact with someone. I want absolutely everyone to know that God loves them and that He is always on their side.

I can’t recommend this book by @herdyshepherd1 enough. It’s about farming, but it’s not. It’s about stewardship & transformation — caring for what we have been entrusted & transforming our hearts & ways to “tend our section of the garden” for which we are responsible.

Live YOUR “Why?” Don’t chase someone else’s.

Listening to the latest episode of "The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill" is gut-wrenching...My heart aches for all those that were hurt.
