Agreed. Let's start with effectively enforcing the laws we have already. Plenty were broken on Wednesday.
The House must immediately reject such a proposal. There are too many federal criminal laws already. Terrorists can be charged under multiple statutes. Laws passed in the heat of the moment, like the Patriot Act, are routinely applied nefariously against law-abiding Americans.
I don't know about the parliamentary procedure here, but I don't understand the logic of impeachment proceedings on Monday. Either impeachment is necessary and should happen immediately or it's not necessary.
