Systems are everything. Back-to-back meetings are bad for that reason.
A lesson I learned the hard way as a young lawyer: Get information out of your head and into systems as quickly as possible. For example, spend 10 minutes immediately after a meeting putting dates on a calendar, noting tasks on a to-do list, etc. Otherwise, cue the chaos.
