I didn’t know there’s this thing called ‘foraged art’ but I guess it’s what I’m doing now. I love this place.
Went out today to pick some stones from our land to grind so I can use in my artwork. Might get real weird later this year and start making my own pigments too.
Every day since I sat down and started planning, the language of our brand becomes sharper and more grounded in our land and what it provides. I’m so excited about what we are creating here. From today in the studio
I am so sad to report that this great beauty, Fraser the Great Blue Heron (named by our neighbor- we all loved to see him flying over our pastures) who often frequented our pond and creek, did not make it out of this deep freeze. Seems like maybe a fox got him while he was trying…
Goodness gracious. Kentucky apparently gets more powder than Colorado. Should’ve brought my skis here.
It’s a good take
As of Feb 4, 2026 we have, as a planet, all the cloth and cloth-like tote bags we're going to need for the next fifty years, maybe forever. Production capacity for these items should be shifted to other needs or simply shut down. That's just my take.
Impressive
Married morning talk: ‘You know what’s a good word?: Labyrinth.’ ‘You know which word I hate?: Rhythm.’ Husband: ‘why you can’t spell it?’ Well, he’s not wrong.
We’re doing a lot of things at the farm these days: land stewardship planning (trees!), prepping for egg laying chickens, seed selecting for a phased-in kitchen garden, planning minor barn restoration, and prepping the pastures and meadow for sheep and bees in years 2 and 3.…
Gonna have to buy another computer just for the lovely wildflower stickers that come with the lovely candles from Humming Meadow Thank you @LadyHollowTree and @OldHollowTree —hope to snag a few roses next!
Good day to overload your clafoutis with berries and make it look like a winter landscape.
Never in my life have I heard of this until I heard them tonight
Those loud cracking sounds you're hearing are Frost Quakes. We typically get these when it gets this cold following a winter storm in our region. #kywx
Nice texture shot after the storm. Might use it as a reference for a painting later.
