Not naming the sex of who commits violence against whom deliberately OBSCURES the fact that we have a very big male violence against women problem.

The majority of those 50,000 murderers will have been MALE. Selecting victims because they were FEMALE. (Guess who gets rape/death threats for stating these facts?) THIS is why we will NEVER stop "banging on" about our rights to single sex spaces & services. #16DaysOfActivism

When there is doubt in your mind that the law is bound and determined to keep the patriarchy intact and right of rape status quo.

Girl, five, must keep the surname of the man who raped her mother to avoid 'rupturing' link to her father, High Court judge rules. I represented D's mother, who argued that her daughter would be tied to the name of a rapist and that was retraumatising. dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…

No clearer way to showcase your utter contempt for women @nytimes

It’s funny how “women ruined the workplace” always translates to men finding it hard to behave like decent human beings once women show up. The problem was never women working, it’s that too many men can’t handle professionalism without mistaking it for oppression

It takes a lot of participants to make the patriarchy go around - what role do you play? What roles do I play? In latest episode Some Poems For My Sex, poet Usha Akella talks about becoming aware of the gendered script that would dictate her life as a woman.

New episode out now 📢 Some Poems For My Sex, deep and broad conversation with poet Usha Akella about the many contrasting flavors of patriarchal controls that women endure - no matter our cultural belonging - and the poet's role in softening the borders that divide us.…

Are women leaving behind our fawning, people-pleasing, ruffle-no-feathers, and hardcore conditioning of being polite in every situation - or are we still being compulsively nice? @drrachelhewitt reflects on why women act this way and her own attitude shifts in latest episode…

The himpathy is turned to 11. How women are impacted by policies that privilege men - is not even an afterthought.

At no point in this long piece about how sad the men who can no longer compete in women’s track & field events are does @AmyWoodyatt mention the women who were cast aside & displaced from competing in world competitions because men took their spots.

How is the maneuvering of women out of sport today similar or different to what happened 150 years ago? Methods change but the practice of banning women (or creating unovercomeable obstacles) from various corners of public life continues unabated around the world. Find…

We are back!!! We're kicking off S4 with Banning Women, a deep and sprawling conversation with award-winning non-fiction writer Rachel Hewitt @drrachelhewitt who unearths and chronicles various corners of women’s history - and the subsequent erasure of that same history - showing…

We would be thrilled to have @ForWomenScot on our podcast, which is very much women-led. ♥️

@SubjectToPower what a great podcast this would be?

Agreed. Prostitution as “female empowerment” is yet another patriarchal reversal, an upside down idea that led to serious rot within feminism.

I’m disgusted in the “women’s rights feminist movement” in Australia which is peddling prostitution as a “women’s rights” . Prostitution is not a choice, there is always coercion and massive risks. It’s misogyny and patriarchy to paint prostitution a womanly self determination
