WE LIVE IN TIME: The nonlinear bit may feel like a gimmick, but is ultimately a tool to illustrate how the space between the effortless & the tough aren’t as vast as they feel. Memories rarely adhere to a timeline but are simply a collection of moments that mean the most to us.

THE WILD ROBOT: A beautiful, honest, sometimes crushing take on both the hardships & rewards of parenthood. The often unforgiving & overwhelming choices you make in choosing to take the more difficult but ultimately more rewarding path when easy is right there. Tissues necessary.

WOMAN OF THE HOUR: Kendrick stages a simple but effective analogy of the quest to find love while remaining safe & the emblematic nature of the risks women take every time they give a man a chance; safe vs. stimulating being a key, unfortunate, factor. Inspiring structure too!
EXHIBITING FORGIVENESS: It's difficult when telling one's own story to distill details into a digestible narrative, but the way Kaphar eloquently connects messy dynamics from one generation to the next w/ clarity is undoubtedly what made him a great artist in the first place.
THE APPRENTICE: Stan somehow credibly transforms from an almost innocent young real estate mogul into the Trump we know today & as he does - I couldn't help but wonder what this might have looked if it were a true tragedy. For that though, your subject must contain multitudes.
