If you can’t start a Monday by pissing off 27 Y6’s, is it even worth it?? Following on from constructing a for argument on Friday, today we looked at against arguments. Y6 were given a copy of this email which they were FUMIN about.
No one was more shook than me when Y6 fell for this hook, line and sinker. Then to rile them up more finding out they had to construct a ‘for’ argument agreeing with the news. I do love teaching balanced arguments 😂

Our dragon mantle is over. We have spent the last 4 weeks in role as experts finding out about how to care for our dragon egg and learning about and discovering the specific species. These are our independent reports for our client @DragonsofWales #writingrocks #primaryrocks 🥰
🌟🧜🏽♀️To celebrate our news tonight, the brilliant @joshuaseigal wrote this! It might give you a clue about our next project...Any ideas?🧜🏾♂️🌟#NationalPoetryDay #ReturnToTheRealm @Mr_K_Teacher @royjamesmoss @SarahFarrellKS2 @MissKhan__ @thatboycanteach
Brilliant way to teach inference skills... 😍 📖
I am absolutely Friday tired this Thursday but I am one proud teacher to see how hard Y6 are working on their inference skills. We used The Tiger Who Came To Tea (banger tbh) in today’s reading session AND summarising/sequencing in English about key events in our class novel 🥰
Thoroughly enjoyed reading this beauty to Y1 on Wednesday this week- sooooo important to use your manners @MrSteveAntony 🥰🥰👍👍
I CANNOT wait to share our new Quiz Realm with you all, focusing on vocabulary and developing background knowledge. Lots of science, geography and history links! Go on then! Here’s a very early glance! #ReadingForPleasure #EduChat #ReadingRocks #PrimaryRocks
If teachers or schools are not teaching writing always with the view that they are developing and encouraging children to see the possibilities for their writing voice, then what on Earth are they teaching it for? 🤷♂️ #WritingRocks /1
If you haven’t yet applied for a grant from @sdowdtrust I can’t recommend it enough. Just because we promote reading for pleasure in our school, we were awarded £500 to spend on books. Incredible! #reading #readingforpleasure @_Reading_Rocks_
🧟♀️Sat in the garden with a gin, enjoying being whisked away by @DarkwoodGrimly to The Shop on Peculiar Hill! Wonderful, odd, spooky, funny and enchanting!🧟♂️

💭 I'm thinking nxt yr of adding original pieces of writing by chn into The Reading Realm app and running a competition where the winning chn get their work published in the app and receive a book as a prize. Would any schools be interested in this? Just an idea at the moment!
✍️Chn feel like writers when they establish genuine audiences for their writing. ✍️Chn feel like writers when they are given ownership over their writing craft. ✍️Chn feel like writers when they are part of what feels like a genuine writing community. 4/6 #WritingRocks
I forgot to post yesterday @vashti_hardy . We are finally onboard and off on our adventure. We had to wait for Arthur and Maudie, but had a good exploration of the ship before they managed to escape the clutches of the Mr Beggins and his ghastly wife. Next stop. The Citadel!
Brilliant @tompalmerauthor A deserved win for Armistice Runner! @jonnybid @one_to_read @_Reading_Rocks_ Delighted !!! @BooksForKeeps
