I do wonder how societies will diverge because of AI attachment like this. What’s increasingly common in East Asia, is discouraged in the west; the products are often fundamentally different with different AI boundaries.
A Chinese father's video of his daughter tearfully saying goodbye to her broken Al learning robot. People already get emotionally attached to AI. Now imagine Figure03 at home and it breaks, people will have a breakdown.

Pre-2019 Uber was working on some of the coolest data engineering projects, even pushing GPS accuracy far further than the smartphone manufacturers with sensor fusion. uber.com/blog/beacon-im…
This paper is one of the most astonishing feats of sustained data wizardry I have ever seen. Using data from Uber, they are able to estimate the roughness of every road in America and precisely estimate the value people place on it, and so much more. 1/

The stats on traffic fatalities in general are horrific. They go unnoticed, but look more closely at the road-side memorials the next time you drive on a state road. They are ubiquitous in this country, but fade into the background.

Spooky outlook for world models more broadly. Generative models allow you to see the world you want to create, potentially reinforcing bad actors similarly to GPT psychosis.
Today we are announcing the arrest of 29-year-old Jonathan Rinderknecht on a criminal complaint charging him with maliciously starting what became the Palisades Fire in January. The complaint alleges that Rinderknecht's started a fire in Pacific Palisades on New Year's Day --…

It would seem we will never get a truly affordable $20k EV. The Nissan Leaf regrettably still lives in its own category of cheap commuter; it is sometimes even THE cheapest car you can buy, EV or not.
BREAKING: Tesla has officially unveiled the Model 3 and Model Y Standard, their new more affordable models. Model Y Standard RWD: • Starting price: $39,990 • Up to 321 miles of range • 0-60 mph: 6.8s • 69 kWh battery (one less battery module) • Available in U.S. only •…

Very funny that Hawaii is not even included in the theoretical Golden Dome proposal given the 2018 missile alert incident than had people climbing into the sewers.
Speaking earlier today in the Oval Office alongside Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, U.S. President Donald J. Trump stated that the proposed transcontinental ballistic missile defense grid known as “Golden Dome” is being jointly developed by and will eventually cover both…

FaxSalad is a lovely little service. I give them pennies, and they fax paperwork. It always works, the price is reasonable, and it saves me a ton of phone-tag. More SaaS services like this!
Interesting that many companies are executing “Apple knit” aesthetic better than Apple itself now. Had they remained visionary, they’d have shipped it in a car, wearables, and robotics. But now we look to Meta, 1X, and Figure.

gang you really cooked on this one, I’ve used other “hype wrappers” i.e phantom, rabby & infinex. This is by far the best execution!
Got absolutely bell-curved by @nucleusgenomics. It shows you a motivational post about how Julia Robinson once scored poorly on an IQ test too lmao

Has the overton window ever shifted on any technology faster than generative video? We blew past the Turing test for every medium, and the conversation already shifted from “how is this possible” to “but what about ads and copyright.”
