If you aren’t following along with @pete_millspaugh’s deep dive on domains, you should! He’s bringing to the fore lots of interesting aspects of the internet that are critical pieces for this wonderful, decentralized machine that I’d never known or considered before.
Speaking of the .ai hurricane risk (now mitigated)...a volcano took down the Internet in Tonga for 38 days in 2022, but .to domains (used by @every for example) were safe because TLD nameservers are in California (picture from @alexobenauer's book!)
