Next Tuesday the 16th is our April meeting, in person & on Zoom. Come along and join local councillors and residents as we work to make the area a better place to live, work and visit. (Step free/wheelchair access) Novotel, 181 Pitt Street, G2 4DT. 7.30pm to 9pm
Oi, Sunak! I’m occasionally’a motorist’ and I’m also ‘a pedestrian’ and ‘a cyclist’ and I live in a house people drive past. I don’t want you on any of my sides you fossil funded muppet. (UK Prime Minister Sunak say he is ‘on the side of motorists’ whatever that means. )
Another day and same thing with this guy due to a total lack of enforcement - double yellows - blocking a whole street from any vehicles other than a bike getting down - Sauchiehall Lane @MyGlasgowCC @PSOSGreaterGlas @AngusCMillar @ChristyMearns cars make #Glasgow
Wemyss Properties want to demolish the B-listed Hillhead Baptist Church, built in 1883 by Thomas L. Watson. They already have consent to convert it to flats. There is a consultation event in Hillhead Library today from 3-7pm & online feedback form is here: hillhead-cresswell.scot
.@PSOSGlasgowCity How is it possible that none of your officers did not observe any cars driving onto the pavement? 🤔🦯
Almost continuous line of cars parked on the pavement on candleriggs. 7pm Sunday. When will @GlasgowCC take action? Pavements are for people @bolandeva @AngusCMillar @ChristyMearns
There is a BBC Panorama 'report' on now about the UK and EVs, I thought it was a repeat from 5 years ago as it's the same tired, ill informed, dated opinion piece the BBC puke out again and again. I don't understand their deliberate pro fossil fuel editorial policy. Any ideas?
@watkinjonesgroup are hosting a public consultation for the redevelopment of Portcullis House into Student Accommodation on Wednesday 14th June 4-7pm. Although the development is not in our community, it will impact our community. portcullishouse.uk
Yay! So special & a huge privilege to experience this. Sound up for this one. Dolphins! 😁
I have done via email and so far to no avail so I'll carry on publicly posting about this until GCC enforce their own rules
this has already been reported but there is once again no enforcement of your own rules @MyGlasgowCC Pepes Piri Piri on Sauchiehall St are dumping food waste in bags on Sauchiehall Lane and leaving it for 12+ hours @AngusCMillar @ChristyMearns
New outdoor area opened today with outdoor speakers blaring music for everyone to hear including residents - this is what lack of enforcement sounds like - Bunker Bar 193 Bath St @MyGlasgowCC @ChristyMearns @AngusCMillar @bolandeva
Odd question and not really your area - but any idea who I could message about this ? I’m sure your contractors are lovely but they’ve installed this big new sign the wrong way round ? Directs people in the opposite direction @GlasgowCC @ChristyMearns @jonmolyneuxSGP
Here's Tory MSP Stephen Kerr supporting the principle of a deposit return scheme that includes glass. According to Kerr a deposit on glass Irn Bru bottles would give them value and encourage folk to return them. It's "well worth aspiring to". He won't want this retweeted.
The Low Emission Zone will help to protect the lungs of those working and owning businesses in the city centre. Around 2,500 deaths are linked to air pollution in Scotland each year and measures like LEZ can protect people with asthma and COPD from serious attacks and flare-ups.
This Thursday the Low Emission Zone will be implemented. We are calling for a delay in the implementation of the LEZ so that charities, businesses and workers can have more time to prepare as the cost-of-living crisis continues.
This is the size of Glasgow's low emission zone in the city centre where property aren't cheap. As a working class person with asthma post covid I don't want to breathe harmful amounts of nitrogen dioxide everytime I go to the city centre. It should cover more of the city.
Mike’s right. The SNP Green council and government are damaging working class people with the LEZ policy. People lucky enough to have newer cars will be fine. But in the absence of a decent public transport system, how on earth are working class people to get around?🤷🏻♀️
