Phishing continues to be the main cyberattack vector. Be cautious of unsolicited messages asking for personal information. Avoid sharing sensitive information or credentials with unknown sources. Report phishing attempts to [email protected].
This week’s theme is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). Besides Bradley’s use of MFA, did you know that you can enable MFA on numerous other online accounts you use in your daily life? MFA makes it harder for an attacker to access your accounts.
Strong passwords are critical to protecting data, and at Bradley we require the use of strong passwords. We enforce strong passwords with Password Checker, which compares your password against a list of known breached passwords.
Every October we celebrate National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, where we reinforce the merits of good security practices and make the world a safer place. Each week has different themes, and this week's theme is "Use strong passwords and a password manager."

Enable Multi-Factor Authentication: You need more than a password to protect your online accounts, and enabling MFA makes you significantly less likely to get hacked. Students, help is available to sign up for MFA at the IT Service Desk in the Library. #BeCyberSmart
Use Strong Passwords: Use passwords that are long, unique, and randomly generated. Password Checker (password-checker.bradley.edu) can test your password. Use password managers to generate and remember different, complex passwords for each of your accounts. #BeCyberSmart
Update Your Software: Don't delay - If you see a software update notification, act promptly. Better yet, turn on automatic updates. #BeCyberSmart
Think Before You Click: Recognize and Report Phishing: If a link looks a little off, think before you click. It could be an attempt to get sensitive information or install malware. [email protected] #BeCyberSmart
Help celebrate National Cybersecurity Awareness Month. This year's campaign theme - "See Yourself in Cyber" - demonstrates that while cybersecurity may seem like a complex subject, ultimately, it's really all about people. #BeCyberSmart
