Everytime I use an airport lounge, I’m reminded of how much of a scam they are. Every lounge at PHX currently has a two hour wait
AI coding magnifies the abilities you have as a software engineer. An excellent assistant but a poor leader. This is greatest time to be that engineer who cares about quality because large scale efforts are easier. An ergonomic refactor can be done in half the time
I am learning that I am an unusual CEO in many ways. Some know that I still code on nights and weekends (github.com/lattner) despite a busy “day job”. As part of that, I care deeply about sw development as a profession, and what “AI anxiety” is doing to many early and…
I’ve seen several people have fake commit graphs like this. Not even ashamed either. One was even a director of documentation that pointed to their commit graph frequently. They had a public repo with an autocommit github action

Quote the President of the United States, go to jail.
This man remains in custody on a $2,000,000 bond for posting a political meme in a discussion about a Charlie Kirk vigil. However much offense it caused, there's no serious argument it was a threat. It's hard to see the arrest and charges as anything but politically motivated.
I’ve gotten entire teams hooked on Intellij diffs
I don't know what labs are doing to these poor LLMs during RL but they are mortally terrified of exceptions, in any infinitesimally likely case. Exceptions are a normal part of life and healthy dev process. Sign my LLM welfare petition for improved rewards in cases of exceptions.

Hey remember that free software that I get for FREE?! Well it sucks ass Such an embarrassing take
No wonder iTerm2 is so bloated. They just added a web browser inside the terminal. Who asked for this? Empty iTerm2 window now uses 400MB of RAM :(
Dead internet theory is becoming less theory everyday
I just read this new paper from Google and I’m absolutely buzzing 🤯 The core idea is almost offensively simple: ditch recurrence and convolutions, and use only attention. That’s it. And somehow…it unlocks a whole new regime of performance, scale, and simplicity. Here’s what…
Is asdf still the default for managing a bunch of software versions? Anything else people like? (Do not say Nix, not there yet…)

For context, they developed an mRNA-based therapeutic cancer vaccine, slated for distribution free of charge to cancer patients. The vaccine is not preventive, but designed to treat existing cancers by personalizing each dose to a patient's tumor profile, using AI-powered neural…
God I love watching exited founders take the corporate ankle weights off
I get asked the same about terminals all the time. “How will you turn this into a business? What’s the monetization strategy?” The monetization strategy is that my bank account has 3 commas mate.
And when you stop… its time to leave and find something new
KYAML in Kubernetes 1.34 feels like the first step toward fixing one of my biggest Kubernetes gripes. I still think HCL would have prevented more footguns but this looks like real progress
nothing says romance like “i checked your Q3 performance review before our first date.” also: you're employed at which major payroll processing company?
Isn’t this becoming exhausting? Excessively shoving AI into the corner of every product doesn’t help. Now my first search result is always polluted with some AI 💩 newsroom.spotify.com/2024-04-07/spo…
