You have much to learn, my young apprentice. The conference has a better TV deal than it did 4 years ago. Sure, monetarily, the TV contract is better in the American, but none of those former schools have competed for a football championship yet.
in a better position? Look at all those teams that left! We had the backfill with a ton of FCS teams. It is not in a better position. Stabilized maybe.
If 100% of the schools would leave this conference if they had the chance, why did over 50% of them join it in the last 3 years? Something isn’t adding up here.
CUSA is a dogshit conference. There is a reason 100% of the teams would leave it if they got an invite to a different conf. That being said, nothing better than watching these teams play but to be completely frank I enjoy watching two squirrels duke it out on my front lawn too.

One game went into overtime. The other had over 50 points of scoring on something called Vice Night. The same people that shit on this conference will turn around next month with a straight face and try to tell me that MACtion is good!
