Presidential candidates did not campaign anywhere until the mid-19th century.
The electoral college was not put in the Constitution to make sure candidates campaigned in small states. That's a lie you were taught in school. It doesn't even make sense. The electoral college was put in the Constitution to protect slavery.

Goodbye, baseball. Let’s do it again next year.
Ramesh Ponnuru was a friend of Rich Nadler, one of KC’s greatest conservatives.

Didn’t we discuss this on KCWIR ten months ago, @NickHainesKC ?
🚨BREAKING: The owners of the KC current - Angie Long, Chris Long, #Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, and Brittany Mahomes - have made a bid to be the 16th franchise in the WNBA, source confirms. The group is making a strong bid to bring women’s basketball to Kansas City.
Missourians voting early are seeing long lines. Should officials have been more prepared? As KC feels the brunt of the frustration, @KCStar spoke with lawmakers, election authorities and voters about the causes of the long wait lines. #moleg #mogov kansascity.com/news/politics-…
This is good. Real question: WaPo gets hammered for killing POTUS endorsement. But the NYT kills endorsements for local and state races and..crickets. Why? Local and state endorsements are arguably more useful to readers.
100k foot view of the WaPo situation: I suppose it’s possible that Bezos sincerely formed, in his private thoughts, the principle that presidential endorsements are bad, and the timing of this articulation ~just happened~ to coincide with this principle being *obviously*…
“And every four years, we will have suburban housewives in Pennsylvania choose a new president.” “Just Pennsylvania, sir?” “And Wisconsin and Michigan. And maybe Arizona, as a treat.” “No one else can vote, sir?” “They can vote but it won’t matter.”
“And we shall call it Kansas City” Cuz it’s in Kansas? “No it will be located in Missouri.” What will we call the neighboring city across the river? “Kansas City, Kansas”
Royals catcher Salvador Perez won the Roberto Clemente Award. He was honored for "efforts to build healthy and active communities in his native Valencia, Venezuela, his baseball home of Kansas City."
The Star endorsed Jon Patterson in MO 30. He’s a Republican.
The Star finally endorses a Republican in this cycle, and even hedges in the opening, almost ashamed of itself, writing... "In the race for Johnson County Sheriff, our endorsement comes after careful consideration and by the thinnest of margins." LOL.
If republican govt dies it won't be because of Trump. It'll be because of the absurd Electoral College. No nation committed to popular sovereignity can long survive repeated governance by the minority. No other office is chosen this way. Democracy isn't a civics class.
Want to create change in America? Get rid of the electoral college and force all candidates to compete for all Americans
